We sat down with Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, the masterminds behind the continued expansion of the Gorillaz, and twofriendly guys with great taste in shoes. They had just arrived in New York after a volcanic-depleted, but still mindblowing set atCoachella, so we asked her to play with their heroes and ankles from Wayne Rooney. Read the interview after the jump. The band Top 100 Songs isthe second of two shows a night to play the Roundhouse in London, going so if you have tickets, or watch live streaming onGorillaz.com GMT/5PM clock at 21:00 EST.
I wanted to start asking, what New Songs were your opinions Coachella.
Jamie Hewlett: Great. I thought it was - it's fun to a party at a golf course with a lot of people in golf carts, and very well organized inevery detail. But we do not have to go for the whole festival, on Sunday we were with New Songs our children, riding around in golf carts and hadto eat something, and began the end of the amusement park and back in time for the concert, which I thought was great. Only theamount react extremely exciting to be a kind of combination between them all. The thing that amazed me the most is when it started, it was like a sea of Country Songs blue screens, small camera, and everyone was like a trip like this [holds his hands] and search through the recorder while they were recording. He only saw thousands of people with those little blue screens. But the crowd reaction was very surprising and I think it really worked the Top 100 Songs show.
How does it compare with the big festivals in England? Were you on this Top 100 Songs when you were New Songs younger?
JH: I was, many times over the years. Well, there's nothing like Glastonbury, Glastonbury is just a mess storm
